Programmes and Classes Falls Prevention Agewell Physiotherapy's Falls Prevention Program is based on current research and has been shown to decrease falls in elderly residents by 20% per year. The program consists of an individual assessment and attendance at a regular Falls Prevention class. Residents are re-assessed regularly to document improvement and allow the program to be tailored to individual needs.
General Exercise and Strengthening Class Research shows that the most common causes of decreased mobility in the elderly are loss of strength and fitness. Agewell's Strength and Fitness class draws on current research to improve the strength and fitness of those muscle groups most likely to impact on an elderly person's independent mobility.
